Supporting Independence, Preserving Dignity
Back in 2018, we started Festinellia because we saw a gap between what elderly and disabled individuals actually needed and what most services were offering. It wasn't about adding more programs. It was about listening better and responding to real situations people face every day.
We're based in Ang Mo Kio, and most of our clients live within a few neighborhoods of us. That matters because we're not just service providers showing up for an appointment. We understand the local community, the healthcare system here, and what makes Singapore's aging population unique.
Connect With UsHow We Actually Got Here
The idea came from watching my own grandmother struggle with services that treated her like a checklist instead of a person. She needed help with daily tasks, sure. But what she really wanted was someone who'd take time to understand her routine, her preferences, and her sense of independence.
So we built something different. Started small with a handful of clients who were willing to try a more personalized approach. No rigid schedules. No one-size-fits-all care plans. Just real conversations about what would actually help.
Six years later, we're still doing that. Our team has grown, our services have expanded, but the foundation hasn't changed. Every client gets someone who knows their name, remembers their stories, and shows up consistently.
What Guides Our Work
Respect First
We treat every client as the expert on their own life. Our job is to support their choices, not make decisions for them. Dignity isn't a buzzword for us — it's how we measure whether we're doing this right.
Practical Solutions
Fancy mission statements don't help when someone needs assistance getting to a medical appointment. We focus on solving actual problems with straightforward, reliable support that works in real life.
Community Connection
Isolation is one of the biggest challenges for our clients. We help maintain social connections, participate in community activities, and stay engaged with the neighborhoods they've lived in for decades.
Family Partnership
Most of our clients have family members who care deeply but can't always be there. We work alongside families, keeping them informed and involved while providing the day-to-day support that's needed.
Consistent Care
Rotating caregivers create stress and confusion, especially for clients with cognitive challenges. We assign the same team members whenever possible so relationships can develop and trust can build.
Honest Communication
We tell you what we can do, what we can't do, and what alternatives might work better. No overselling, no unrealistic promises. Just clear information so you can make informed decisions.

Our Path Forward
Starting Small
Launched with eight clients and three care team members. Spent most of that first year learning what worked and what didn't. Made plenty of mistakes but built strong relationships with those early clients who gave us honest feedback.
Adapting to New Challenges
The pandemic changed everything about care delivery. We developed new safety protocols while finding ways to combat the isolation many clients experienced. That period taught us a lot about flexibility and creative problem-solving.
Expanding Services
Added specialized support for clients with dementia and mobility challenges. Brought in team members with specific training in these areas. Started offering respite care so family caregivers could take necessary breaks.
Building Partnerships
Established connections with local healthcare providers, community centers, and support organizations. These relationships help us coordinate better care and give clients access to resources beyond what we directly provide.
What Makes Us Different
Most support services operate on efficiency models that prioritize throughput over relationships. We've seen clients shuffled between different caregivers every week, care plans that nobody actually reads, and families left wondering what's happening with their loved ones.
Our Approach
We limit each care team member's client load so they have time to build real relationships. Our plans get updated based on ongoing conversations, not annual reviews. And when something isn't working, we address it immediately instead of waiting for a scheduled evaluation.
It's slower growth this way. But the clients we serve get better outcomes, families have more peace of mind, and our team members don't burn out from impossible workloads.
